Dropkick Murphys Release Video for New Single, “UNTIL THE NEXT TIME”

As they prepare for the launch of their From Boston to Berkeley Tour, Dropkick Murphys released a new music video yesterday for “Until Next Time.” The single comes from the band’s most recent record, 11 Short Stories Of Pain & Glory. The song is a change of pace for the Boston punk band — a slowed down jam which evokes a closing-time bar sing-a-long among friends. The video showcases excited fans as well as fun behind the scenes clips of the band touring. A masterful kazoo solo proceeds the start of the song in the (strangely fitting) opening clip, embracing the lighthearted and intimate vibe of the song. Check out the video for Until Next Time below.

From today’s press release:

In the midst of European festivals and headlining shows, Dropkick Murphys have released a video for “Until The Next Time,” from their 11 Short Stories Of Pain & Glory album.

Dropkick Murphys’ Ken Casey explains, “The music video for ‘Until The Next Time’ was directed by our longtime friend and amazing photographer Gregory Nolan during our 11 Short Stories of Pain & Glory Tour in both Europe and the U.S. This song is about our relationship with YOU, the best fans on the planet. It’s about the memories and the great friends we’ve made along the way…about the pleasure of coming to so many cities that we feel we can almost call home, and the bittersweet moments of having to say goodbye and move on to the next town every night.”

According to drummer Matt Kelly, “Until The Next Time” is “a song about having to put the good times on hold temporarily. We were glad to come, so sad to go, so while we’re here we’ll have us a real good time! See you out on the ice!”

Gregory Nolan, tour videographer and director of the video said, “There are two kinds of shots I love with the Dropkicks: hijinks between band members and moments of connection between the band and fans. The awesome thing about putting together this music video is that I got to shape the story that puts these relationships at the center, with music as the method of connection. It’s the perfect song to celebrate the good times, and to get the sense that the friendships we share will always come back around again.”

Dropkick MurphysAl Barr, Tim Brennan, Ken Casey, Jeff DaRosa, Matt Kelly, James Lynch—return to the U.S. in July for their co-headlining From Boston To Berkeley Tour with Rancid. The month-long trek kicks off July 27 in Bangor, ME and wraps August 26 at the It’s Not Dead festival in San Bernardino, CA, near Los Angeles. Each night of the tour will culminate with Rancid and Dropkick Murphys on stage together for a joint encore.

The Bouncing Souls and Jake Burns open the July 27 – August 9 shows and The Selecter and Kevin Seconds open from August 11 – 26.

Tickets are on sale now at www.DropkickMurphys.com.

Rancid and Dropkick Murphys have a long and important history together. Back in 1997, Rancid’s Lars Frederiksen came across a copy of Dropkick Murphys’ original EP at a friend’s house. He turned it over to his bandmate and Hellcat Records president Tim Armstrong, who quickly snatched up the band for his new label.

Dropkick Murphys are touring in support of their 11 Short Stories Of Pain & Gloryalbum, released through the band’s own Born & Bred Records earlier this year. The album debuted at #8 on the Billboard Top 200 and was the #1 independently released album. There’s a feeling of purpose throughout the album, influenced by the band’s work with The Claddagh Fund, a charity the band established in 2009 to help support addiction recovery as well as children’s and veterans’ organizations. Dropkick Murphys are hands-on in raising funds, mentoring, and lending a helping hand with veterans, youth sports, and drug and alcohol rehabilitation. Many of the songs reflect these experiences, and the band’s sadness, anger and dismay at the opiate epidemic ravaging the country – in particular, Boston and New England — and also their feeling of pride and optimism at the sight of those who have turned their lives around.Dropkick Murphys have become ambassadors for their city. In Boston, it seems like everybody knows someone connected to the band whether by blood, friendship, or the time they shared a brew at a Bruins game. They’ve built a legacy that does Beantown proud.

TIMMY’S ORGANISM “Eating Colors” Album Out September 15th on DMT Records, On Tour With Black Lips This Month

Since setting the scuzz-punk gutter a blaze with the first 1997 release of the EPILEPTIX, then the increasingly influential (and downright killer) crew, the CLONE DEFECTS and HUMAN EYE!  In the last 20 years , Detroit’s TIMMY VULGAR has continued to release obscure-o, underdog music. Backed up by two mental ward escapees, Jeff Giant and Blake “Bovver” Hill, this new record is heavy and mean. Raw-as-ever acid glam, punk, psych, stomp, rock’n’roll! Aware of the evil world around them, this is the soundtrack for the apocalypse! – Eric Davidson

The Contortionist debut “Reimagined” Video, New LP Details

American progressive rock act THE CONTORTIONIST has released an all new music video today exclusively via BILLBOARD MAGAZINE for the track “Reimagined.” Directed by Erez Bader, it is the first music video from the band from their forthcoming LP Clairvoyant, due out later this year.

“’Clairvoyant’ is the product of not only months of writing and recording dozens of song ideas over the last year, but also a definitive creative artifact outlining the artistic confluence of the six members of The Contortionist for our past and future endeavors,” says keyboardist Eric Guenther.

“Collectively, we’re feeling proud, apprehensive, but ultimately excited to finally have this record speak for us as a meticulously sculpted voyage into our musical psyche. On album and stage, between the art’s presentation, zealous and even forceful sonic immersion, and interpretable lyrical and visual metaphor, we are attempting to bring the listener deeper into the world and musical language of The Contortionist. ‘Reimagined’ struck everyone simply as the most truthful and sincere place to start in this new universe.”

“Reimagined” is available on all streaming services today and is available as an iTunes Instant Gratification track,, meaning, fans who pre order the LP via iTunes receive “Reimagined” as an instant download.

The Contortionist will release Clairvoyant on September 15, 2017 via Entertainment One Music / Good Fight Music. The new LP is the highly anticipated follow up to Language, the genre defying LP that continues to garner critical acclaim. Clairvoyant, which reunited the band with producer Jamie King (Between The Buried And Me, Through The Eyes Of The Dead), takes the best elements of The Contortionist’s past and reshapes them as the band follows their individual creative muses toward the future.

The band just wrapped up a European tour with PERIPHERY and are currently playing some intimate UK headline shows before their first ever Download Festival performance on Friday June 9. This fall the band will support BETWEEN THE BURIED AND ME on the “Colors Ten Year Anniversary Tour.”

The Contortionist ultimately prove to have as much in common with the psychedelic experimentation of later Opeth or Tool and even the textured melodicism of Sigur Ros as they do technical heavy music, but they’ve never sacrificed urgent impact. Critics and fans admire their intelligent approach to the crushing riffs of tech-metal, which becomes more vibrant with elements of ambitious post rock and jazzy / fusion-infused virtuosity. Even when angular riffs, odd time signatures, and devastating breakdowns give way to hypnotic, ethereal, and trancelike musical meditations, The Contortionist are never lacking in total power.

In whatever The Contortionist endeavors to do, there will always be a great amount of thought, attention to detail, and shared love of musicality. They have committed to never surrender to the path of least resistance, always challenging themselves and their audience.

This is art for art’s sake. The Contortionist ease through the doors of perception with grace where possible and smash through the boundaries with absolute force when necessary.

Norwegian Artists Coucheron and ARY Collaborate for Summertime Single

Grammy-nominated Norwegian producer, Coucheron, and Norwegian singer, ARY, collaborated for new single, “High By the Riverside.” With powerful, sweeping synths, accompanied by a bouncy bass, the song evokes summer night vibes.

Coucheron’s production stands out particularly in the way he utilizes breaks in the beat and melodies. The silent, empty spaces act as beats of their own, giving the song a bubbly quality. ARY’s sweet and light vocals compliment the more complex production. The song closes with lush harmonies.

“I’ve been fortunate to work a lot with ARY this past year, mostly on her stuff,” Coucheron told The Line of Best Fit, “But in this case, we both felt this would be a song for me. I immediately bonded with the storytelling in this song and felt it belonged in my universe, so I did my best to compliment her beautiful vocals.”

Coucheron reached top chart popularity on Hypemachine for his previous songs “Loud” and “Barely Floating,” boasting over 20 million streams across music streaming platforms. Spotify has aided in his streaming popularity and featured his tracks in their New Music Friday Playlist in the US and Europe. Coucheron’s music has also recently garnered attention from popular music publications including Billboard and FADER.

“High By the Riverside” is available on Toothfairy now.
